As Patrons of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, we were thrilled to be invited to join our fellow Patrons at Birmingham Airport last week. As we only joined The Patron Group from 1st November, it was our first opportunity to get to meet the other Patrons and at such an interesting venue too was an added bonus.
After a meet and greet with each other and a spot of lunch we were given a tour of the Control Room at the airport. This really is the hub of the airport where nearly everything is controlled from. If you have ever wondered how pilots know which stand to go to or what happens in an emergency, the Control Room have all the answers.
We were then privileged enough to be given a behind the scenes tour of the airport including executive lounges and the baggage control areas; it was fascinating to see what happens to your bags after they have been checked in!
It really was a great experience and we are thankful to Birmingham Airport and The Black Country Chamber of Commerce for giving us this opportunity. We look forward to welcoming the Patrons to our premises when it is our turn!
