Law firm Clifton Ingram appoints Quiss Technology to manage IT services
Quiss Technology, the UK’s leading provider of managed IT services to the UK legal sector, has agreed a contract to support Clifton Ingram, regarded as one of the leading law firms in the Thames Valley, following a recent competitive tender.
Clifton Ingram operates from offices in Reading and Wokingham, with more than 100 dedicated professionals providing a full range of legal services to individuals and business clients, with a focus on delivering practical solutions and proactive legal advice.
Nick Hayne, Head of Professional Services at Quiss Technology said: “For a service provider like Quiss, it’s important we understand what a client hopes to achieve from their digital transformation, but also what has not worked well with previous solutions and indeed, the providers of those solutions.
“Taking all this information into consideration and combining it with decades of experience, we are confident our ability to deliver the solution that best suits each client, rather than what’s fashionable or easiest shines through in competitive pitches.
“Our technical teams worked hard to understand what was needed and recommended a Microsoft Azure public cloud solution, using Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) as the delivery technology.
“Long before the pandemic struck, Clifton Ingram had decided to adopt WVD, as it not only made remote working an easily delivered reality, but switched responsibility for matters such as disaster recovery, data backup and managing software updates, firmly in our hands.
“On the platform, we deliver Partner for Windows, Carpe Diem and a new digital dictation Cloud solution from Diktamen, together with the full suite of Microsoft 365 productivity and security applications.
“It was clear from the outset that Public Cloud would deliver significant benefits to Clifton Ingram, but it was important their choice of partner not only had a thorough knowledge of Azure and WVD but also a deep understanding of the UK legal sector and its unique challenges.
“Their existing multi-tenanted Private Cloud environment proved challenging and failed to deliver the benefits for which Public Cloud is recognised: lower running costs, reduced maintenance, almost unlimited scalability and high reliability, all provided on a pay-as-you-go basis.
“We are pleased to add Clifton Ingram to the growing list of legal sector clients supported by Quiss, which now supports thousands of users through a comprehensive managed service solution with guaranteed service levels and support from a UK-based helpdesk.”
John Hargrave, CFO for Clifton Ingram commented: “Having identified the need to move to a new IT support service, Clifton Ingram went out to a number of alternative providers for consideration.
“We chose Quiss because of their proven expertise and extensive experience in the legal sector and have been really pleased with how the migration of systems has gone.
“Not only moving provider but also into Microsoft Azure has been as seamless as possible, aided by a large onsite Quiss support team on launch.
“We’ve received good feedback from colleagues, who are finding the Quiss IT helpdesk quick to respond with good communication on the progression of issues that need further attention.”
