Transform your technology from a capital burden into a strategic advantage with Device as a Service
A Familiar Story
XYZ Solicitors has just landed three major new clients in the same sector. Great news, but now they need to recruit a new team of seven talented individuals, with a range of expertise and experience.
After the excitement of the wins, XYZ faces the immediate need to buy seven new laptops, seven Office 365 licenses, seven security setups and seven application setups, as well as address seven headaches they do not have time for, when there’s a new team to onboard.
The practice manager obtains quotes: £6,300 for laptops, another £1,500 for software, with the imaging and security setup estimated to take a day per device. The firm hasn't even considered what will happen when these machines need replacing in three years, or what to do with the old ones gathering dust in the cupboard.
Then they discover Device as a Service. Instead of £7,800 upfront, the firm pays just £25.00 per device per month. Everything's included: the hardware, all the software, security protection, the out-of-the-bag setup and full support.
The new hires walk in on day one with new machines all ready to go. When it's time to upgrade, Quiss handles everything, including secure disposal of the old equipment.
Thanks to making the switch to DaaS, the firm’s cashflow stays healthy, the team is productive from day one and the earmarked capital is redirected to growing the business instead of buying depreciating assets.
What is Device as a Service?
Device as a Service (DaaS) represents a fundamental shift in how organisations approach workplace technology. Rather than purchasing hardware outright and managing its entire lifecycle, you subscribe to a fully managed service that delivers everything your team needs to work securely and productively.
Think of it less like buying a car and more like leasing one with insurance, servicing and roadside assistance all included. But it's more than just a financial arrangement.
With Device as a Service from Quiss, every device comes configured to your exact requirements, protected by enterprise-grade security and backed by ongoing support from specialists who understand the professional services sector.
The service encompasses HP hardware and peripherals selected to match your team's specific needs, Microsoft 365 licenses, endpoint detection and response security, cloud backup protection, imaging and deployment, as well as comprehensive lifecycle management.
When technology refreshes are due, which is typically every three to four years, we handle the entire process, including secure data wiping and environmentally responsible disposal of old equipment.
It's a complete solution designed for firms that want technology to simply work, without the capital outlay, administrative burden, or compliance risks that come with traditional IT procurement.
How Device as a Service Works in Practice
1. Initial assessment and setup
We start by understanding your firm's specific needs; the types of work your team does, the applications they rely on and any compliance requirements you face. Based on this, we recommend appropriate HP hardware configurations and software packages. You decide on the number of devices you need and we handle all the procurement.
2. Configuration and deployment
Before any device reaches your team, we configure it completely. This includes imaging with your required software and applications, implementing security protocols, setting up Microsoft 365 accounts and installing endpoint protection. When a device arrives at your office or directly to a remote worker, it's genuinely ready to use; there are no half-day setup sessions, no calls to the helpdesk and no waiting for IT to configure accounts.
3. Ongoing support and management
Throughout the subscription period, we monitor device health, push security updates, manage software licenses and provide technical support when issues arise. Rare hardware failures are handled with rapid replacements to minimise downtime. As your team grows or contracts, we scale the service accordingly, adding devices for new hires and removing them when staff leave, while maintaining appropriate data security protocols throughout.
4. Refresh and lifecycle management
After three to four years, when hardware approaches the end of its optimal life, we proactively manage the refresh. This means newer, faster devices for your team, without the need for capital outlay or procurement hassles. The old equipment? We handle secure data wiping to ensure complete data destruction, then manage environmentally responsible disposal or rehoming. You're never stuck with cupboards full of outdated equipment or wondering whether old hard drives have been properly sanitised.
