On-premise

On-premises software (also known as on-premise, and abbreviated “on-prem”) is installed and runs on computers on the premises of the person or organization using the software, rather than at a remote facility such as a server farm or cloud.

Many organisations still deploy their IT from their own private network – when looking at this method there are several pro’s and con’s, but it is still a viable solution. One of the main reason’s companies are now questioning the on-premise solution is the purchase of expensive pieces of hardware and the management, up keep and associated resources that are needed to keep technology alive.

However, we still have many clients using this methodology and in certain circumstances it can be financially more attractive than the public cloud solution. There is also a certain mind shift that needs to take place when moving your estate from a location that you know to somewhere that you don’t – Quiss can support and help guide your decisions highlighting in many cases live examples of how other similar companies have taken this direction and how this has fared.
