New Legal Regulations
Due to changes in the Companies Act, companies in the UK must now ensure that they include regulatory data on their website and emails.
Company Registration Information
A company's registration data includes:
- registration number
- place of registration
- registered office address
Email
Company registration information is already required on "business letters" but the duty is being extended to websites, order forms and electronic documents.
This information can be added to the standard disclaimer automatically appended to external emails. Please contact us if you would like us to amend your existing disclaimer or would like to discuss installing email disclaimer/footer software.
Website
The following information must be on a company website:
- Name, address and email address
- If a company, the registration information
- If the business is a member of a trade or professional organisation, membership details including any registration number should be shown
- If the business has a VAT number it should be displayed, even if the site is not used for trading
